A Reappraisal of the Last 30 Years (Anthropologist, Co-Editor, CriticAtac) The event is moderated by Attila Melegh (Associate Professor, Corvinus University of Budapest, Founding Director, Karl Polanyi Center) Bios: Dr. Radhika Desai is Professor at the Department of Political Studies, and Director, Geopolitical Economy Research Group, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. She is the author of Geopolitical Economy: After US Hegemony, Globalization and Empire (2013), József Böröcz is Professor of Sociology at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and Research Professor at the Corvinus University of Budapest. In the 2019-20 academic year, he has been a Senior Fulbright Fellow at the Institute for Social Studies at the University of Warsaw, Poland.
Annamária Artner is an economist, senior research fellow at the Institute of World Economics at the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies and college professor at Milton Friedman University, Budapest. Her most recent publication is “Accumulation of Advantage and Elimination of Scarcity—A Critique of the Neoclassical Approach” (International Critical Thought, 2019) Florin Poenaru has a PhD in social anthropology from Central European University, Budapest and was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar to City University of New York. From 2017 he is an external lecturer at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, University of Bucharest. He is a co-editor of CriticAtac, founding member of LeftEast and regular contributor to Bilten. His latest book is Locuri comune: clasă, anti-comunism, stânga, Tact, 2017.
